Este año Finlandia fue el país de muchos primeros: primera final nacional, primer wildcard del jurado, primer país en abrir su convocatoria para el 2010, primer país en anunciar sus candidatos y, ahora, el primer país en publicar sus temas para el Eurovision Laulukilpailu 2010 (Final Nacional Finlandesa).
This year Finland was the first countruy in many topics: the 1st. country to held a national final, Waldo's People were the 1st. wildcard picked by the jury to qualify to the final, the YLE was the 1st. broadcaster to call for songs, and is the 1st. country to published the competing songs in their national final: Eurovision Laulukilpailu 2010.

1. Amadeus / Anastacia
Solo de ver su foto pense: "he aqui el efecto Rybak"... Y no me equivoque. Con un intro muy folk, que no se por que me recuerda las promos del festival del 2006 en Grecia, la YLE presenta un tema que, a mi parecer, trata de fusionar Fairytale (Norway '09) con Rändajad (Estonia '09). Creo que con una buena puesta en escena, simple y efectiva, Amadaus podria ser quien lleve la bandera Finlandesa a Oslo en 2010.
"This is clearly the Rybak effect", that what I though in the moment I see Amadeus's picture... And I was right. With a folky intro and a beat that reminds me the 2006 ESC promos, the YLE has chosen a song that try to mix, in my opinion, Fairytale (Norway '09) and Rändajad (Estonia '09). Perhaps with a good but effective performance, we'll see Amadeus flying the flag for Finland in Oslo next year.
2. Nina Lassander / Cidder Hill
Aqui es donde Irlanda se encuentra con Finlandia. Nina presenta una cancion muy simple y agradable, que a pesar de ser placentera de escuchar no tiene posibilidad alguna de ganar la final finlandesa el proximo 31 de enero. El problema con esta cancion, que de hecho me gusta, es que no es nada original. Podria ser un "sobrado" de The Corrs o una posible candidatura para Irlanda, pero no la representante del Finalndia en Oslo.
Irlenad meets Finland! Nina Lassander has a simple and pleasant song, but, sadly, has no chance to win the Finish National Final next 31st. of January. This song is the kind of entry that we all have heard before and could be, easily an outtake from any Corrs album or an entry in the Irish final, but not the Finish song in Oslo.
3. Bääbs / You Don't Know Tomorrow
Bääbs es la primera de los tres webjockers elegidos por SMS el pasado mes de octubre. No tuve la oportunidad de escuchar los otros 27 temas, pero si You Don't Know Tomorrow fue una de las tres mejores canciones no quiero imaginar la calidad de las otras. La verdad no es una mala cancion, pero tampoco es buena. Siento que suena muy amateur y que no llegara muy lejos en enero. Algo que me llamo mucho la atencion fue lo muy parecida que suena la voz de Bääbs a Dolores O'Riordan, vocalista de The Cramberries.

I didn't have the chance to listen the other 27 entries, but if "You Don't Know Tomorrow" is one of the top 3 songs I can't imagine the quality of the others. Honestly, this is not a bad song, neither a good one. It sounds too amateur to me. There's something that I had to admit, Bääbs voice reminds me a lot to Dolores O'R.

4. Boys Of The Band / America (I Think I Love You)
Ok, se supone que BOB deberian amar a Europa, no a America. Por que unos finlandeses tratando de conquistar al publico europeo le dedicaria la cancion a America? La cancion... no tiene nada de especial y creo que no suena nada actual. De las cinco canciones de esta primera semifinal, America (I think I Love You) creo que es la que tiene menos posibilidades de pasar a la final o ganar.
Ok, BOB wasn't supposed to love Europe instead of America? Why on Earth some Finnish, trying to conquer Europe, are singing about America. I don't understand! In the other hand, the song isn't special at all and it's dated. I really think that America (I Think I Love You) has the lowest chances to qualify to the final.
5. Pentti Hietanen / Il Mondo E Quì
Realmente no me esperaba esto de Finlandia, estoy sorprendido. Una balada en italiano? Definitivamente fui transportado a los festivales de los 60 y 50 cuando el festival era una Gala para lucir a los mejores artistas en el mas exclusivo de los recintos... o lo que es igual, al Festival de San Remo hoy en dia. Conociendo el gusto de los finalndeses por ritmos como el tango y ciertas baladas, veo a Pentti clasificando a la final.
Honestly, I did't expected this kind of song from Finalnd, I'm shocked! A ballad in Italian? Definitely I was transported to the 50's and 60's contests, when Eurovision was a big show where the best singers had the chance to shine... Or what is the same, San Remo's Festival.
After knowing the, sometimes weird, taste of Finns for the Tango and ballads, Pentti would qualify easily to the final.
